What is the main difference between Mergeline and YAMM?
YAMM is a Google Workspace add-on that sends to the rows of a Google Sheet, with access to your Gmail and your Sheets3. It also asks for permission to run when you are not present3, so it can keep working without you.
Mergeline is a Chrome extension that works in Gmail: a side panel for campaigns and a button next to Send for quick merges. Your list can come from a Google Sheet, but also from pasted addresses, a CSV or Excel file, or a Gmail search. It sends from your Gmail tab, so your browser needs to stay open while a campaign runs.
How much do Mergeline and YAMM cost per year?
YAMM shows its prices as a monthly figure billed yearly: Pro for a gmail.com account is $72 a year and Pro for Google Workspace $144 a year1. Monthly billing prices were not published on the pricing view we read.
Mergeline Pro is $12 a month or $99 a year for any Gmail or Workspace account. On a gmail.com account YAMM is $27 a year cheaper; on Workspace, Mergeline is $45 a year cheaper and includes automatic follow-ups.
For free use, Mergeline sends 60 emails a day and YAMM 20 recipients a day1.
Which one is more private?
YAMM’s help page lists its permissions: read, compose and send email; see, edit, create and delete all your Google Sheets; contacts; an external service (Firebase); and running when you are not present3. Its privacy policy says it uses message bodies, attachments, metadata, headers and settings to provide the service2.
Mergeline stores your lists, emails, results and do-not-email list in your browser’s extension storage. In its default mode it asks for no Google account permissions: it fills Gmail’s own compose window in your Gmail tab. If you choose Google sign-in instead, it asks for gmail.send, which Google classes as sensitive rather than restricted, and for gmail.readonly only if you turn on reply detection4. That data is used in your browser and never sent to a Mergeline server. The full breakdown is on our security page.
