Mergeline
Best if you want 60 free emails a day, follow-ups that stop on reply for $99 a year, and lists that never leave your browser. It sends at a human pace up to Gmail’s own limit, so it is not built for thousands of emails a day.
The best alternatives to Gmail’s built-in mail merge are Mergeline, YAMM, Mailmeteor and GMass. Google’s feature needs an eligible Workspace plan, so free gmail.com and Business Starter accounts do not have it, and it sends no follow-ups. Mergeline works on any Gmail account and is free for 60 emails a day.
Most people look for an alternative because the button is not there. Google lists the eligible plans as Workspace Individual, Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Education Standard and Plus. Business Starter and free gmail.com accounts are not included1. One Reddit user who bought Business Starter for this feature wrote, “What a joke that is! It’s actually all I really wanted GWS for.”3 Others on eligible plans report the button missing4.
The feature also has firm limits, all from Google’s help page1:
